I am honoured to have been accepted in 2008 as the first Australian breeder member of MCBFA - the Maine Coon Breeders and Fanciers Association based in the USA.

Cooncerto was established in the year 2000 and I breed exclusively Maine Coons because I am passionate about these beautiful cats.

I live with my husband Peter and a houseful of Maine Coon cats in Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia. We overlook the beautiful Pacific Ocean - our own little piece of paradise.  A long way from the origins of Maine Coons in Maine USA, but then these are the cats of legend, who purportedly sailed around the world with Vikings, and  traveled as intrepid mousers on trading ships along the coast of Maine, so it's not surprising to find Maine Coon Cats all over the world now, although these days they usually travel by plane!

That's our home below surrounding our cat-safe courtyard, the centre of our home and where both the human and feline members of the family can enjoy the beautiful Queensland weather. My stud boy lives in the back wing of the house which was specially built to make it easy to clean. He has a room with a view! The girls and neuters are inside except when we have kittens - then the whole house gets turned upside down because the kittens need to be raised underfoot - just ask my husband! :-)

All our cats and kittens are registered with FCCQ, Queensland, affiliated with ACF, Australia.

I am a founding member of  UMCFA a Maine Coon Breed club in Australia

I am only a caretaker for this breed. There are many people behind my breeding venture - breeders and cat fanciers all over the world who have a similar passion! I choose to work with people who have similar ethics to mine and who also display a genuine love for their cats.  If I don't have the kitten you are looking for, I can recommend others who may be able to help.

Showing cats is the social part of breeding - I get to spend time with friends who feel the same way about their cats as I do. It also helps me keep abreast of trends and health issues,  and to ensure that the cats I use in  my breeding programme conform to the breed standard. Although I take a keen interest in showing and I love having kittens in my house, my cats are primarily my pets and share our lives. The girls neuters and up and coming kittens have free run of my house.

In January 2010 I was approved as an Open Judge for Group 1 cats  (longhaired cats). I enjoy being involved in the shows and am currently studying to extend my judging license to Allbreeds.

Below is a photo so you know who you are talking to if you decide to ring me. And here is more information about the origins of Cooncerto if you want to read more about me and my passion!   ORIGINS OF COONCERTO
